How To Maintain Healthy Habits & Finally End Self-Sabotage

This topic comes up a lot and I want to share it with you because it’s important for you to know that your health and wellness goals are yours and yours alone. They are personal, private, and a part of you.

I have worked with a lot of women over the years who felt ashamed of the goals that they wanted to reach. They weren’t supported or encouraged and definitely not getting what they needed from their partner, spouse or other loved ones.

They felt like they needed permission and some even did.

They felt trapped in a body they didn’t recognize.

They felt like they'd never be happy in their own skin.

They felt like they needed to apologize for being who they were.

They put too much pressure on themselves to be perfect and it meant failure if they had any kind of set back.

They cared way too much about what others thought.

I know one of the biggest reasons why many of you are not going after what you want is because you worry too much about what others will think or are thinking about you...

"What if I look stupid?"

"What if they think I’m selfish?"

"They are going to think “She doesn't know what she’s doing and should just give up”

"What if they think I can’t do this"

"I’m never going to reach my goals"

I get it.

I’ve been there. Way more than I’d like to admit. Seriously. Then I do a brain dump of all of the negativity in my head , go for a walk, and do my best to refocus my energy and move on!

It’s taken me years to get to this point but once I was able to see myself through these women, I was able to let go some of my deepest insecurities and work with them to do the same.

It’s not an easy process and you don’t have to go it alone.

Getting over this and your fear/embarrassment of failure is the key to start and put your best foot forward. Perfection not needed.

When you decide that you are going to go for your health and wellness goals, go for it and don’t think about what other people may be saying about you. This is for you and NOT them. This is your life and you have to live it. Mistakes will happen and life will get in the way at times but you need to keep going! I promise, it’s worth it. You’re worth it!

I’ve been lucky to be around a lot of mommy go getters as well. Now, many of them tried different programs, had some success but weren’t always to maintain the results they worked so hard to achieve. Some even tried the same program over and over with the same result. But they never gave up!

These women were fighters, pushed through the negative self-talk, didn’t give a you know what about what others thought and they kept trying. Each time they became stronger and stronger, learning more about themselves, accepting that they have what it takes to achieve exactly what they want but need to find support in the right places. And when the reach success, they a proud of the strength and courage that it took, they didn't give up through all of the tears, and the did it for themselves and they are happy!

They inspire me because.

  • They make their journey about themselves and no one else...

  • They understand that life is going to happen and don’t give up when times are tough

  • They challenge everything

  • They do not need approval from anyone

  • They accept that their bodies are amazing, regardless of the number and embrace it.

They are powerful and confident, ready to take care of their needs whatever they are.

When I put these pieces together, my mindset shifted and I started having fun with my workouts. It wasn’t about being about a certain weight or size, it was about function and mental challenge.

So, if you’re reading this, make me a promise, when you decide that you want to take control of your health and wellness, do it for you and do what makes you feel good and forget what anyone else thinks!

It's not easy but I know you can do this!

Worrying what others think or not making your goals about you gets in the way. It stops you from taking sustainable action and being the one in the drivers seat. When you leave it to everyone else of the nay sayers, it slows you down.

You are strong, beautiful and smart. I support you!
